Cruden Bay Harbour has been managed by the fishermen of Cruden Bay since 1923, successive generations have taken advantage of the generous gift to the village by the last resident of Slains Castle the shipping magnate Sir John Ellerman.

Over the years the harbour has seen its use evolve to encompass increasingly popular leisure and sporting industries and has become an important community asset offering a functional service throughout the year drawing visitors from far and wide to the area. However in more recent times it has become the focus of increased community attention, now showing signs of its age against the relentless pounding of the North Sea, the villagers once again find themselves having to raise funds to ensure the future of the harbour and to develop its potential.

The current Trustees and Management Committee are now focused on ensuring that within the ever-changing nature of the inshore fishing industry, marine leisure activities and ecology, that Port Errol Harbour is preserved and protected now and for future generations, and we need a lot of help to make this happen.
