Over the last 7 years the Community Association has helped fund the purchase of Christmas lights for lamp posts and the Christmas tree which is erected in the centre of the village during the festive period. Over the last 3 or 4 years there has also been a concert staged to coincide with the official switching on of the Christmas lights.

 

All of this requires organising and implementing, and a small team of dedicated villagers have tried hard to pull it all together on time for the switch on.

 

The 2008 programme proved to be a challenging one which saw a number of the lamp post lights fail to operate as they should. The burden of checking fell to the same individuals who had erected them in the first place but unfortunately the combination of too little time to effect repair and too few hands prepared to lend a hand saw many of the lights remain unlit this year.
